Biography

A Scholar Bridging Indigenous Knowledge and Global Psychology

Dr. Stephen Asatsa is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at the United States International University-Africa (USIU-A), with extensive experience in academic strategy and research. He is an experienced Consultant Psychologist registered and licensed by the Kenya Counselors and Psychologists Board, and co-founder of BeautifulMind Consultants, a Kenyan mental-health social enterprise.

He serves on the governing Council of the Society for Research in Child Development (SRCD), is the Africa Regional Representative for the European Association of Personality Psychology (EAPP), and is the e-newsletter editor for the International Society for the Study of Behavioral Development (ISSBD). He is a Consulting Editor for the journal Child Development.

and Principal Investigator of various studies ranging from Indigenous Knowledge Systems, Thanatology, Cultural Evolution and Human Development. He is the Director of The Collective Intelligence Research Lab (CIR-Lab), a research hub that promotes understanding of the human and society from a multidisciplinary worldview.
